This is my handpainted yarn. You can use any Dk weight yarn you chose.


Size 5 circular and double point


6 Stitches to the inch on size 5

Sea Scallop Edge

Row 1: (RS) Knit

Row 2: Knit

Row 3: *P2tog twice, (M1,K1) 3 times, M1, p2tog twice; Repeat from* to end.

Row 4,5,& 6,: Knit

Row 7: Knit 1, Purl 1

Row 8: Purl 1, knit 1

Repeat rows 7&8 twice, than row 7 again.


Cast on 143 Stitches.Mark beginning of round.

Work Sea Scallop pattern.

Increase 1 stitch. (144 stitches)

Stockinette Stitch for 8″.

Armholes (Back)

Divide in half. 72 stitches front and back.

Bind off 4 stitches 2 times.

Bind off 3 stitches 2 times.

On next RS row decrease 1 stitch each edge.  (56 stitches remain) Work until armhole measures 4 3/4 inches.

Back Neck edge

Knit across 22 stitches. Bind off 12 stitches. Working each side separately,  bind off 2 stitches 1 time. Decrease 1 stitch 1 time. (19 stitches remain)


Bind off 6 stitches twice,  7 stitches once. Repeat for other side.


Decrease for armholes same as for back, working until piece measures 3 1/2″


Knit across 22 stitches, Bind off 12 stitches. Work each side separately.

Decrease 1 st each end of every RS row 3 times. (19 stitches)

Continue working until front is the same as the back. Working the shoulder decreases as you did for the back.


On size 5 double-pointed needles. Cast on 33 stitches. Mark beginning of round. Work Sea Scallop Pattern. On following row increase 3 stitches. (36 stitches)

Increase 1 stitch at the beginning and end of every of every 3rd row. (68 stitches)

Continue knitting until piece measures 7 1/2 inches.

Working back and forth in rows:

Bind off 4 stitches 2 times

Bind off 3 stitches 2 times

Decrease 1 stitch every RS row 7 times

Sleeve Cap

Bind off 3 stitches 2 times

Bind off 4 stitches 6 times

Bind off remaining 10 stitches

Make 2.


Pick up and knit 75 stitches around the neckband.

Row 1: Knit 1 purl 1 ( moss stitch)

Row 2: Purl1 Knit 1

repeat 5 times

knit 6 rows, Bind off.
